A Geometry Office
AGO was not founded but organically evolved to a framework of methods and processes through a series of collaborations and projects. These projects were done mostly together with people passing through the doors of the Architectural Association between 2011 and 2017. With the direction of Taneli Mansikkamäki the practice is based in London and works on projects internationally. AGO is identified through a reduction of consumption and concentrated geometry. While the office based research is complimented by work from strategic consultancy to detailed design, the academic research is based on a more speculative work about strategies and housing projects in post-neoliberal cities and territories in Europe.
Our past commissions range from interiors and bespoke furniture to buildings in private, commercial and public sectors. Recent collaborations are with Turner Prize winning artist Laure Prouvost, Räthel & Wolf, Stella McCartney, Dunhill and Klaus Haapaniemi.
Taneli Mansikkamäki (Helsinki 1981) is a Finnish Architect who graduated from the Architectural Association in London. He has taught at the AA since 2011 where he is running the Intermediate Unit 12 and teaching First Year media studies.
Depending on the scale of projects AGO has in the past worked collectively with architects Umberto Bellardi Ricci and Kastler Skjeseth Architects, Kleopatra Chelmi and Natapa Sriyuksiri.
